Hi from Behind the Scenes

Who’s Behind the Local Helsinki Guide?

Hi there!

I’m a long-time Helsinki local and an Airbnb host who’s helped hundreds of guests make the most of their time in the city. Over the years, the same questions kept coming up:
Where should we stay?
What’s actually worth seeing?
Where do locals go?

That’s why I created this local Helsinki guide – to give you those answers in one calm, clear, no-fluff place.
No influencer hype, sponsored lists or overused “must-sees.” Just real, lived-in tips from someone who knows where things are actually good.

You won’t find my selfie here. Instead, you’ll see snapshots of the city the way I see it – through morning coffees, Sunday walks, and everyday life. I’m not here to be the center of attention. I’m here to help you explore Helsinki like someone who truly lives it.

If you’re looking for calm advice, shortcuts that make sense, and places you’ll actually enjoy – welcome.
This local Helsinki guide is for you.

Exploring Helsinki with kids (or without)

Most of my tips work whether you’re traveling with little ones or just adults.
If there’s a museum the grown-ups want to visit, I usually know whether it’s stroller-friendly – or what’s nearby that could spark the kids’ curiosity too.
Think of it as navigating the city with that “something for everyone” mindset. I focus on places that are easy to enjoy, thoughtfully chosen, and just a little bit special.
Not fast fashion. Not fast food.
Just calm, quality experiences – the kind of spots you’ll actually enjoy and want to come back to.

More calm, less chaos: how I see Helsinki

This local Helsinki guide isn’t about party streets or packed “must-sees.”
It’s for those who love discovering cities through quiet coffee spots, beautiful walking routes, and everyday details.
The vibe here is calm but curious. In other words, more slow mornings than nightlife, more sea breeze than bucket list.
That said, some of Helsinki’s most iconic sights are just as loved by locals as they are by visitors.
You’ll find those here too – with honest context, real tips, and a local point of view.
